Sometimes, the gods of skill are kind and you produce something of such great beauty you think surely even angels are weeping about it.
To wit – green tea and raspberry macarons:
I used Bravetart’s macaron recipe again, and they turned out beautifully. I added the few teaspoons of macha my local tea shop could scrounge in with the icing sugar and almond meal, and flavoured the buttercream with raspberries. They were amazing. I was feeling rather smug for having finally mastered the creation of such beautiful macarons so strutted around for a bit and decided I’d make another batch.
However, sometimes the gods of skill are vengeful and you produce something that would likely terrify small children.
Witness: crackarons .
Le sigh. I knew it was too good to last. If you look carefully you’ll notice my ganache is also grainy, adding further insult to injury. Moral of the story? Macarons are nobody’s bitch.
